How to Pill Your Pet

Giving medication to your pet doesn’t have to be a struggle. Here’s how to make the process easier:

• Prepare in Advance: Have the pill ready along with any treats or tools you may need, like a pill dispenser.
• Choose the Right Approach: For dogs, hide the pill in a treat or piece of food. For cats, try a pill pocket or gently open their mouth and place the pill at the back of their throat.
• Stay Calm and Gentle: Speak soothingly to your pet to keep them relaxed throughout the process.

If your pet resists or if pilling becomes too difficult, ask us about alternative medication forms like liquids or injections.
